This small, family-owned business used grant funding to purchase a portable band saw. The company provides direct services to local municipalities and landowners and has provided milling services to eight municipalities to date. This unique service allows for a creative, local solution to multiple city problems - a city can use their own wood for city projects, reduce disposal costs, reduce lumber costs, and show conscientious use of taxpayer funds. This business is excellent at public relations and has received extensive media coverage. They have been featured in the Tree Care Industries Association magazine, the Ann Arbor News, the Detroit Free Press, American Forests (online journal), TimberLine (online journal), and Michigan Public Television.
