Latest News: Council Launches Urban Agriculture Initiative in City of Detroit

Through an agreement with the USDA NRCS, the SEMIRCD is providing educational opportunities for agricultural producers using seasonal high tunnels in the City of Detroit - Wayne County area. This programming will help producers learn more about installing, managing, and maintaining high tunnels, while also showcasing best practices for producing and marketing crops from these systems. The Southeast Michigan RC&D Council helps the people of Southeast Michigan to take better care of their natural resources; better utilize the services of local, state and federal agencies; and improve their community's economy, environment, and quality of life.

Council efforts serve Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties and the City of Detroit.
